A Good Week

 Happy Sabbath,

I am thankful for a good communion service today and to have a chance to play with another musician.  Her observations helped me to see I was not crazy.  She made some comments to some of the praise and worship team and hopefully that will help improve things but ultimately, it was a good service and a good day.

I am thankful for a great meeting for one of my clients. I was anxious ahead of it but God helped me through it all and it went very well.  I have more challenging meetings coming up and I know I can do well as long as I lean upon the Lord and turn from evil.

I am thankful that my son listened today.  He was reverent and did what was appropriate.  He stayed safe and out of trouble.  I was able to know where he was.  He's a good boy and I'm happy that he listened when I talked to him about Eli and his sons and what happened to them.

I am thankful that my new trimmer/edger came.  The other one I had, its motor burned out last week Monday.  I had to wait until Thursday this week and was able to go tackle my yard yesterday.  My grass was getting tall and with the heat and extra work I put on my schedule, I was not able to mow on Monday.  I guess people thought I didn't care any more and someone decided to leave their dog's poop on my grass.  I mean it was only 4 days later and the grass was not ridiculously tall. I habitually cut my lawn once a week and work hard to take care of it. I noticed someone had tried to take one of my decoration rocks I have down at the base of my tree in my front yard.  There may be another missing.  I've lived in this house almost 8 years and this is the first time I've experienced this nonsense (the poop and moving of my stones).  Anyways, my yard looks beautiful.  I was so tired so I didn't get around the rose bushes like I usually do in my back yard but everything else was trimmed up and looks clean and professionally done.

I am thankful for being so busy this week that I only had to work less than 1.5 hours on Friday.  I had worked so much that I would have all of Friday to tackle the lawn and go out and get another gift for my dad.  I had ordered stuff when I was away on vacation but they are determined to deliver the package late so in the mean time, I was able to go and get some other items that I can bring over for Father's Day.  I received his birthday gift and will hold on to it until later this month.  I can either wait until his birthday to add the other two items (they are perishable and in large canisters) or I can bring them once I get them as I had intended to present them for Father's Day and not what I purchased yesterday.  My son and I have been making a lot of ice cream with our Ninja creami so we will also make up a batch for my dad and mom to bring tomorrow.

I am thankful that my son didn't have any cavities at his dentist appointment this week.  It's surprising every time we go.  Maybe they are not praying his teeth correctly because when I was a kid, I had a filling done every time I went in.  He's only had one and he is 12.

I am thankful for a cool and comfortable house.  I don't have working central air and only one air conditioner at the other end of the house.  I have 3 fans (one in the living room, in my bedroom, and my son's room) and we have been comfortable and cool even though it is a nightmare outside.  I am thankful that I put down tile instead of carpet and have the layout that I have.  It all makes a huge difference and it is working.

God is good. I have no complaints.  My son ate and I had a nice meal.  I am going to relax and listen to some worship songs and enjoy the rest of the Sabbath.
